For payroll and time providers
Gratee splits tips fairly among restaurant staff in Canada and prepares their payouts. Restaurants that use your payroll or time system want Gratee to read their staff list, hours worked and declared tips from you, so that nobody keys them in twice. We are asking for your approval to connect, on your terms.
What Gratee is
Each night's tips are calculated from the restaurant's own records, checked by two people, and paid to the team. Your system is where the staff and their hours are already recorded.
Tips are shared from hours, roles and sales, under rules the restaurant sets and approves.
Every payout and every rules change is prepared by one person and approved by another.
A tamper-evident record of every dollar, from the figure read to the amount paid.
What Gratee asks to access
The fields are listed one by one in section P of the checklist we send you. Gratee asks for those and no others.
Restaurants want Gratee to read their staff list, hours worked and declared tips from your system.
Read-only. The restaurant authorises the connection in writing and can withdraw it at any time.
If your system runs payroll: later, and only with your separate approval, Gratee would like to send each restaurant's approved tip earnings into payroll.
Section W of the checklist sets out how that would work and what we need from you for it.
Nothing is sent until you and the restaurant agree.
What Gratee does not use. Pay rates, wages, SINs, bank details and card numbers are not used in any calculation.
How approval works
What we would like most is a single approval of Gratee as an integration partner, after which any restaurant that uses your system can authorise Gratee itself in a few steps, without separate paperwork each time.
Tell us how Gratee is to connect: partner programme, app listing, developer account, or credentials that each restaurant creates. If your process needs a sign-in flow we do not have yet, such as OAuth consent, we will build it.
Sandbox or test credentials and a test account, so that we test against your system before any real restaurant is connected.
For each row choose Keep, Change, Remove or Not applicable, and add anything that is missing. It covers access, agreements, privacy under Canadian law, security, technical steps, and support and offboarding.
Your developer and data terms, and any partner agreement, fee or certification that applies, so that we can read and accept them before we connect.
A technical contact and a compliance contact on your side. We name ours in the letter.
Our commitments
Gratee's connectors have so far been tested against Gratee's own simulator and sample replies. We will not connect a real restaurant until we have tested against your sandbox and you have confirmed that you are satisfied.
The restaurant authorises each connection in writing and can withdraw it at any time, by disconnecting in Gratee or by revoking the credential in your system.
We will not use your name or logo until you tell us how you want it used. That is why no provider is named on this page.
When you return the checklist, Gratee completes its part of every item that stays, with evidence, and sends the completed checklist back to you and to the restaurants waiting.
Reply to the letter you received from Gratee, or to the person who sent you this page. The letter carries the checklist for your system and the names of our technical and compliance contacts.
